Parliamentarians Told to get back in their Box

Andrew Landeryou’s blog has this little gem on Parliamentarians and staff
being told to stay inside and not take the good viewing spots on top of
Parliament House to watch the Olympic Torch relay around Canberra. And
here we all thought they were to have unrestricted access to Parliament.

Ok, should have read before posting. Access to the forecourt, roof/grass ramps and Queen’s Terrace was off limits. Not as big a deal and you would think.

Not sure where he’s geeting his information from. Nobody was told not to look. The Members Veranda was open to any pass holder that wanted to watch. The front forecourt and roof was off limits to everyone.

There were tonnes of people on the roof above the entrance.

I guess he was wrong, there were plenty up on the hill looking down.
