Do you like planet Earth? Ethical manufacturing? Local authors and musicians? Organic chocolate? Then come celebrate!

After almost three years trading online and at local craft and baby markets, what better time than a recession for Brindabella Baby to open a shop? Seriously… we’re making a better world for baby by making it easy and affordable for parents to choose eco-friendly and fair trade. Many eco-friendly solutions, like cloth nappies or one-size clothing, will save serious money – so this is a good time to look at where you can cut the budget and do the world a favour at the same time.

Get your invites here. There’s three events to celebrate, all during Fair Trade Fortnight from 2-17 May:

    * Monday 4 May 10:30am: book reading with local author David Vernon. His book Men At Birth was awarded Best Non-Fiction Book for 2007 in the 2007 ACT Writing and Publishing Awards.
    * Tuesday 5 May 8pm: live music from Canberra acoustic musicians Red Hot Go (Bek and Jess), with finger food catering and celebratory wine.
    * Wednesday 6 May 10:30am: book reading with local author Tania McCartney. Riley and the Sleeping Dragon is a beautifully illustrated story about a little boy’s journey of discovery in China.

At all three events, there will be lucky door prizes, an organic fair trade chocolate fountain, and gift bags for each attendee. Please RSVP so I know how many gift bags to prepare!
