Nice! I have a GoPro and did this in my backyard, but have always wanted to do it somewhere like Mt. Ainslie. How many shots/hours did it take? Surely you didn’t leave your gear there for Canberra’s good-natured light-fingered population? Unless you sat there in the freezing cold?

That was about 30 minutes of one exposure per two seconds. And yes, I stood there in the cold and kept an eye on it. The hamburger idea actually came from someone using a GoPro on it which worked well.

The hamburger actually did work, I just had a lot of other settings wrong so the result wasn’t very nice:

My first though was – shoulda put the gopro on the hamburger as it is lighter.
