The ABC reports that accused Burns Philp fraudster (from way back in the day), Peter Daniels Clarke, has finally been returned to face the ACT courts having skipped bail in June 2000.

Peter Daniels Clarke disappeared while on bail in June 2000 after pleading guilty of defrauding Canberra’s Burns Philp Trustee Company of about $4 million in investor funds.

Clarke returned to Australia yesterday after Interpol issued his arrest earlier this year.

Prosecution requested he appear in front of the now retired Justice John Gallop.

He’s been remanded in custody with his next hearing on January 24.
