I was in Goulburn yesterday and interested to see that petrol was 10c a litre cheaper than Canberra. I filled up before leaving at $1.28.9 in Canberra and wish I didn’t bother as it was around $1.17.9 in the Goulburn main street (admittedly that may have been after shopadocket discount).
If you’re heading to Sydney and don’t mind a short detour, it may be worth waiting to fillup and save a few bucks, especially if you plan to call into Maccas anyway.
petrol s $1.11.9 at the united servo in yass and doesn’t seem to change on weekends or holidays
We noticed this on our way to Sydney last weekend, the price difference was quite significant (not quite 10c, but about 6-8c).
Another interesting tidbit, is on the way to Batemans Bay, fuel in Bungendore is normally 2-3c cheaper than anywhere in Canberra/Queanbeyan.
I juice my vehicles on Wednesday evenings, and usually get a good price. There’s no real way of knowing where to get the best price, other than keep your eyes open in your local area, so I wouldn’t get too worried.
Marulan has always been even cheaper than Goulburn! And there’s a hungry jack’s there.
Wednesday is when the cycle bottoms out, before it goes up sometime mid-morning thursday, because it’s always payday for someone on a Thursday.
It’s normally always cheaper to fill up at a station off the main highways, they normally gouge the price for people willing to pay for convenience.
