We’ve had this in for your attention:

ANU Women’s Football Club & the Gungahlin Jets Women’s Football Club in conjunction with AFL Canberra invite you to attend

PINK FOOTY DAY

Date Sunday 13th May 2012
Venue South Oval, Corner of Ward and Garran Road, ANU Campus

To acknowledge and pay tribute to all those affected by Breast Cancer, and in support of the first nationally run Pink Football and Netball Day; ANU and the Gungahlin Jets are hosting the first of their annual Pink Footy Day match.

With the generous sponsorship of Mitchell’s Glass Works, the Gungahlin Jets will wear a pink playing strip, and ANU will continue their tradition of sporting pink arm bands.

Local media will be present on the day, so come and join us at ANU South Oval for this great initiative.

Isn’t that the most difficult oval to get to in Canberra? It’s smack bang in the middle of the ANU Campus and has all curvey roads to get to. Most confusing if you don’t know the ANU Campus

Hi Pink Little Birdie, according to G-Maps – it appears the easiest and most convenient entry point seems to be off Clunies Ross Street, then Dickson Road, Daley Road and Ward Road. Less curvey roads that way! However with the GWS Giants now going i would suggest following the crowd!

Thanks… I know how to get there… I used to play for one of the other teams in the league. confusing as hell the first time…

This is now doubling up as the GWS Family Day

Nice work by ANU, Gungahlin and GWS to tie into a great initiative. I just hope the famous ANU parking inspectors don’t uphold tradition by fining everyone there!

Best people head down early then for this great initiative of promoting women in support and raising money for Breast Cancer support.
