Poker machines not so great for money laundering?

There’s an interesting story on the ABC about one Julie Elizabeth Walker who is alleged to have made off with $140,000 from LJ Hooker’s in Gungahlin while in their employment.

The prosecutor said the money was not found in her bank accounts but it is alleged the 47-year-old was a regular user of poker machines at a Chisholm Sports Club.

Documents tendered to the court showed that Walker and her husband received more than $150,000 in payouts from the club while she was employed by LJ Hooker.

I’m amazed that kind of money could walk off without anyone noticing.
