The ABC has a report on the rivers of gaming revenue sustaining the Labor Party’s operations in the ACT as it makes laws to govern it’s generous Labor Club benefactors:
The ACT branch of the Australian Labor Party received close to $1 million worth of funding and donations last financial year.
Financial returns published by the ACT Electoral Commission show more than $662,000 of that money came from the Canberra Labor Club.
The ALP spent more than $780,000 over the year.
The ACT division of the Liberal Party received nearly $658,000 in funding and donations and spent $405,000 over the year.
Its biggest donor was Canberra external consultancy ADVISE, which gave a gift in kind of $170,000.
The Liberals’ second biggest funding boost was $123,000 from the security consultancy firm Stratsec.
