Police arrest man for slashing tyre in Narrabundah

By 15 June 2014 20

ACT Policing arrested a 68-year-old man last night for damaging a tyre on a car in Narrabundah in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 14 June).

About 8.15pm last night, ACT Policing executed a search warrant on the man’s home. A number of evidentiary items were seized. The man was arrested and taken to Woden Police Station where he was later released.

The man will be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police suspect this incident may be linked to other incidents of a similar nature in this area. Investigations are continuing.

This is the result of an ongoing police operation from April 2013.

The neighbourhood rejoices, but the tyre companies groan…

Why do they reveal his age? We babyboomers are already being blamed enough for everything else.

It’s been happening for so long that he was not going to be a twenty year old. Be interesting to know his motive.

I know if my tyres had been slashed by this guy I’d be very interested in where he lived and who he was.

Stop committing crimes and maybe you won’t be blamed so much

Is it possible for victims and insurance companies to sue him for damages if he is convicted?

Your retort is exactly what I am talking about.

Presumably Mr Fluffy didn’t mine his own asbestos, so he must have got it from somewhere.. It’s hard to believe that someone else in Australia wasn’t using the same material in a home insulation business.

You’d think that by the age of 68, he’d have grown out of being a moron – so he must be just an angry old bugger.

Maybe he just couldn’t handle the pressure.

In any event this news should pump-up the residents of Narrabundah who have been feeling flat.

Unfortunately for the average, garden variety moron, there is no growing out of it.

Not unless they can prove each and every incident.

They reveal the age for all of the crimes and they are usually men in their 20s. So long as it’s consistent, I don’t see too much issue.

Only the age was mentioned, not a comment such as elderly man, so I don’t see anything wrong with it. People can make their own presumptions. This comment often is said by a ‘cub’ reporter. Commenting someone is “old” leads me to think they must be a cub reporter – anyone over forty is elderly. This often says more about the reporter’s age than the person they are writing about.
