Child found on Princes Hwy at Albion Park reunited with family

UPDATE: The family of a young boy located in Albion Park Rail, in the Illawarra, at 6.45am today has been found. Shortly after 9am a member of the child’s family attended Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The child is now in the care of the family member.

NSW Police have thanked the public and the media for their assistance this morning.

EARLIER REPORT: Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the family of a young boy found this morning in Albion Park Rail in the Illawarra.

The boy, who is described as being three to four years old, has a tan complexion with darm brown curly hair and green/hazel eyes. He was found wearing a blue pyjama top with a yacht motif and purple pyjama shorts featuring small yachts.

A member of the public located the child on the Princes Highway, Albion Park Rail, near Creamery Road at around 6.45am today.

Police have not been able to communicate with the child.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command are appealing for information from the public to locate the boy’s family.

Update from NSW Police: The family of a young boy located in Albion Park Rail, in the Illawarra, has been found.

About 6.45am (Thursday 19 January 2017), a member of the public located the child on the Princes Highway, Albion Park Rail, near Creamery Road.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command investigated the incident and attempted to locate the boy’s family.

Shortly after 9am this morning a member of the child’s family attended Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The child is now in the care of the family member.

NSW Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance this morning.
