Police seek witnesses to aggravated robbery in Giralang

Police are seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the 7-Eleven store located on the corner of Canopus Crescent and Atalumba Close in Giralang last Wednesday (18 May).

A man entered the store at about 12.45am, produced a screwdriver and made demands for cash and cigarettes. He also stated that he had a gun.

The staff member handed over a sum of cash and cigarettes before the offender exited the store and fled on foot in a southerly direction.

The offender is described as being about 175cm tall and of medium build. He was wearing black shorts and a grey hooded jumper with a plain blue t-shirt over the top, black shoes and a black beanie.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can assist in identifying the offender to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au, quoting reference number 5962012. Information can be provided anonymously.

People should not report crime information via ACT Policing’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
