Police seek witnesses to Griffith assault

ACT Policing has called for public assistance as it searches for a man involved in an altercation in at the Stuart Flats in Griffith last night.

About 5.15pm yesterday, a man was allegedly stabbed at Stuart Flats (across Captain Crescent from Manuka shops). The incident allegedly occurred near the carport at the rear of the building.

ACT Ambulance Service treated a man for multiple stab wounds at the scene and transported him to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

The male offender is described as being approximately 30 years old, Caucasian, 180-185cm tall (5’11” – 6’1”), with black hair and a solid build. He was wearing blue jeans and a light blue t-shirt.

The man was last seen running in the direction of Evans Crescent and Canberra Avenue in Griffith.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen a man matching this description to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
