If you are looking to get out and enjoy the springtime sunshine this weekend, Conservation Volunteers has a great project on this Sunday (20th November) at Mt Painter Nature Reserve in Belconnen.

The team will participate in diverse activities to assist with the long term environmental goals for the reserve – to restore native vegetation and control pests and weeds to improve its environmental value. Tasks include watering and mulching tubestock, mapping rabbit warrens, removing woody weeds and spreading and anchoring grass thatch and seed.

The Conservation Volunteers team will be joined by the Friends of Mt Painter who will share their expertise and enthusiasm with new volunteers. The group is delighted to have the assistance of our team to help restore an area which has been identified as being in the most critical condition of any of Canberra’s reserves.

Conservation Volunteers provides transport to and from Civic.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Conservation Volunteers on 6247 7770 or email Canberra@conservationvolunteers.com.au for more information or to book your place.
