Of course we’ll be seeing flotillas to Syria, Libya, Iran, Tibet, Burma, all those other bastions of human rights, very soon?

Won’t we?

Surely?

Probably will, as soon as someone puts a complete military blockade in place around them.

They already do. It’s called the Government.

Hope the Israelis blow them out of the water as soon as they enter the restricted zone

A much more appropriate name would be “Antagonist Flotilla 2”.

Don’t cry if they don’t come back alive, they are simply helping out the gene pool.

Pity that the hand wringing classes are being sucked into protesting about Israel. Israel is being persecuted for being easy to report from, Jewish, civilised and not shy about defending itself. Anti Israel protests have a base coat of anti-Semitism and a top coat of anti-capitalism.

Or are just ignorant.

In my experience, the majority of non-Muslim anti-Israelis never really questioned the propaganda they’ve been fed. It’s a bit of fashion today to be green, eat organic food and hate Israel. This is obviously a gross simplification of the issues, but it provides a good enough background to many people’s believes nowadays.

+1 to all these. I’d rather protest the anti-Israeli protesters, myself.

True and true.

Palestine was one of the only physical fronts on which the more extreme/militant Left wings idiots of the 60’s and 70’s could camp.

I don’t believe we are (or have been) seeing a isolated conflict between Jews and Muslims, or even Isrealis and Palestinians. Outside influences (namely capitalism vs. socialism) antagonise and inflame the situation.

It is in Socialist’s interest for this conflict to continue, or be resolved by a Palestinian state attributable to Socialists work.

Personally, I think it was a poor tactical decision on the Socialists part: their ideals are too contradictory to the Islamic culture.

Im pretty sure they share a border with Egypt, the newly liberated free state of. Cant they just truck in baby food from that border?

You mean like the one Pakistan put on Kurram, right? Oh, silly me, there was no flotilla for the poor, peaceful people of Kurram in that occasion. How fantastically surprising.

Look, I’m all for human rights, but really, you have to be kidding right? The whole reason people come to Australia is to get away from this crap.

I bet new Greens (ex-socialist) Senator Lee Rhiannon is behind this.
