Paperchain Kids: Meet the Author and Book Launch

Please join us to celebrate the release of Queen Hooey’s Nest by Michael William Marriott.

Alex reckons that something funny is going on with the big bullant nest on the mountain behind his house. But it takes the arrival of his audacious cousin, Violet, who ignites a chain of events that ultimately lead to both Alex and Violet exploding into a world where they are definitely the odd ones’ out…

Queen Hooey’s Nest is the story of the biggest and best bullant nest on Mount Majura. The beautifully brilliant bullant Queen, Queen Hooey, utilising the powers invested in her by her huge brain, creates the space for cousins Alex and Violet to move from human world to insect world.

Guided by their new bullant friends the two cousins meet a range of colourful Mount Majura locals including: dropping in on a trapdoor spider, being hunted by a band of odd-bug thirsty inchmen plus catching a ride with a couple of Christmas beetles with poor flying records. Will Alex and Violet make it back to the nest in time for Queen Hooey’s party or will they be the blackboard special on a praying mantis’ menu…?
