Nice shots and thanks to Josh Chaffey for them. But only one plane ?. You’d have thought they could search around for a couple of more for their birthday.. Hell Williamtown is only about 20 mins away in these things.

Truly amazing noise! I was also driving, and trying not to look up too much. Like a thousand Ducati bikes in the sky.

20 min but many broken windows if mach 1.0 or better is achieved enroute…

The Super Hornets are operated by 1 and 6 SQN, and are based out of Amberley airbase in SE QLD.

I was in the city at the time, and couldn’t see it – but could certainly hear it! Bouncing around all of the buildings, it was impossible to tell which direction the sound was coming from. Actually being in a war zone with those things flying around – especially if you knew they were coming for you – would be absolutely terrifying!
