The Herald Sun brings word of the Raiders’ thrilling but close loss, 34-26 at Campbelltown.

“CULT hero Taniela Tuiaki scored a double as the Wests Tigers produced a 34-26 come-from-behind NRL victory over Canberra at Campbelltown Stadium tonight.

The hulking winger scored in the 12th and 60th minutes as the Tigers came from 26-18 down at half time to score an eight point victory in front of 17,392 fans.”

If they keep playing like that they’ll get some more TV time though.

Phil Graham played like a busted.

Agreed on Tuikaki’s try. It was spectacular, but suss. Some of the Tigers’ tries were soft too. For example, Robbie Farah, one of the top hookers in the comp, was able to stroll over the line from dummy half one metre out. Dumb defence lads!

Wasn’t a bad game at all for league (I usually find it painfully boring…5 crash ups, kick, 5 crash ups, cross kick, 5 crash ups, bomb, etc). The Raiders looked pretty good & I thought were going to win the game..oh well. As mentioned, they just need to toughen up a little & yep, a couple of basic errors cost them big time. Still….quite entertaining, they’ll see me at a few home games this year on that form.

Two mistakes from the two Internationals cost the game.

Monoghan dropped a sitter in goal which would have relieved the pressure and given the Raiders possession for the first time in about 5 minutes. From the drop out, the Tigers scored.

From the next kick off, Campese put it out on the full and the pressure was back on.

The Tuiaki second try should have been referred to the video ref.

If they play like that they’ll miss the finals by a mile. Most games are won by grunt and grit with some ‘entertaining’ as the icing. And nobody ever one a premiership on the back of 25 minutes razzle dazzle a game. In a the second half they couldn’t get the ball off the tigers, and, as even Phil Gould knows, no possession = no points.

Pay TV only = no watch. Stupid NRL.

That’s 6 out of 8 for my tipping this week.
Who would have thought Rabbits and Bulldogs would have got up???

Friday’s matches were nail biters.
The two refs are making the game lightning fast. It’s going to kill the big guys…
Carn Broncos!

It seemed like the Tigers had the ball non stop for about 15 minutes there in the 2nd half. There was no way anyone could withstand that much pressure. Minus that 15 minutes the Raiders looked as though they’ll be pushing the top 6 at least this year.
