Recommendations – personal trainer for postural issues in Canberra?

By 27 November 2012 4

My question for you fine people is: Can anyone recommend a good personal trainer who deals with issues caused by incorrect posture? Someone who works in the inner north or inner south/Woden would be ideal.

As a bit of background: I’ve had persistent neck/upper back pain for many years and have done the rounds of osteos, physios, doctors and so on. I recently visited a sports physician who advised me my issues were due to many years of bad posture, and the best/only way to address it is to visit a personal trainer who can help me work on developing and using the correct postural muscles. I could probably go to most PT’s with this issue, I’m sure, but I’m keen to find someone good who might have specific expertise in this area.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

get posture problems sorted before you stress them with excercise. go and see jon powderly, osteopath, in o’connor – he’s a genius and will sort out your posture.

otherwise, kit lachlan’s ‘posture and flexibility’ classes out of anu are magic – and if you can get an appointment to see kit [if he's still doing appointments..?], bingo!

Give Bowen therapy a try. Fixed my sore back in one session. Andrew Earl at Dickson is good. He even treats horses!
