We are proud of the Indigenous records in our collection so we’ve arranged free guided tours during Reconciliation Week to point out some of those on display.

You can hear the story of the Larrakia petition to the Queen that was torn in a scuffle when Indigenous people tried to present it to Princess Margaret during her visit to Darwin in 1972. You’ll also see a copy of the 1967 Referendum and read letters protesting against the arrest of Albert Namatjira

When: Friday 27 May, Saturday 28 May, Monday 30 May-Friday 3 June
Where: National Archives of Australia – Queen Victoria Terrace, Parkes

Tours start at 12.30pm on weekdays and at 11am and 2pm on Saturday. Bookings essential via Eventbrite
