ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious carport fire that occurred early this morning (Monday, 16 December).

ACT Fire Brigade attended the scene around 3.30am after reports that two carports were on fire in Discovery Street, Red Hill.

Two carports and one car suffered significant damage as a result of the fire. A rear fence and furniture being housed under one of the carports was also damaged.

The cause of the fire is unknown. ACT Policing are investigating the incident and AFP Forensics will be attending the scene this morning to collect evidence.

Carport fire in Red Hill

ACT Fire & Rescue have attended the scene of a carport fire this morning on Discovery Street, Red Hill.

Three fire pumpers, a Commander and the Breathing Apparatus (BA) Van arrived on scene to find two carports containing one vehicle well alight.

Firefighters extinguished the fire before handing the scene to ACT Policing for investigation.

Crews were alerted to the fire by multiple calls to Emergency Triple Zero (000) from 3:27am.
