ACT Policing detectives have seized replica firearms, a quantity of drugs and a sum of cash during a search warrant in Melba yesterday (Thursday, 21 November).

Detectives executed the Drugs of Dependence Act search warrant on the home around 5.30am locating a quantity of cannabis and small amount of crystal substance suspected to be methylamphetamine.

During this warrant police seized three replica firearms, prohibited weapons including multi-bladed knives, slingshots and a conductive energy weapon along with a sum of cash.

Police investigations into this matter are ongoing.

Police urge anyone with information on illicit firearms or the manufacturing or dealing of illicit drugs to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Saying “We confiscated some kids toys” doesn’t sound quite as good.

I’ve seen more realistic kiddys cap guns then those

Also, I guess, to be fair, my Megatron in pistol form does look more realistic than the replicas in the photo. Not sure why those plastic pieces of crap are even considered replicas?

Not too long ago I successfully imported a replica walther P38 pistol.

Oh wait, it’s just a Megatron anniversary thing. Ridiculous that in this country, a transformer is still considered a replica fire arm.

Lol eff u customs, I won yet again.

Have ACT Policing decided not to refer to illegally-possessed Taser-like devices as Tasers, so as not to confuse them with the legal and perfectly harmless ones that they use? Ah, Orwellian NewSpeak – gotta love it.

My Hoover is a Dyson.

The Dyson Ball Cleaner has a deceptive name, just saying. Good to see 3 more cap guns are out of the criminals hands, now if they could just find the dealers…(Kmart, Big W, Toys-r-us..). Hoping the conductive energy device isn’t a just zapping dog collar

Zapping dog collars are illegal too. And I don’t think you can buy them at KMart, just like you can’t buy pretend guns like those. Though you probably can buy the Dyson Ball Cleaner. Personally I would return it if it didn’t do what I had bought it for (zapping children or dogs, robbing banks, or personal hygiene, respectively). Clean the hairs out of the filter first though.

I guess we won’t know what brand of “conductive energy weapon” it was, and they can’t be much interested in public help in tracking where it came from.

Taser is a brand name a bit like Bobcat. Technically they are skid steer loaders but all skid steer loaders are referred to as Bobcats.

That’s why I used a capital letter for Taser. As they have provided a photo of the replica guns but nothing else, I guess we won’t know what brand of “conductive energy weapon” it was, and they can’t be much interested in public help in tracking where it came from.

Thanks for educating him. The ignorance is astounding at times.

Jeez, the cop are scoring goals left, right and centre with illegal guns and drugs at the moment. It seems like there’s been a bust a week over the last couple of months.

Good on ’em, and I hope they keep it up. The fewer guns there are in the hands of the ungodly, the happier I’ll be.
