After 10 years I am in the position of looking for a new job.
I know that the standards for resumes etc have changed in that time – so I am looking for someone to help me overhaul my resume.
There are several people who advertise this service but has anyone had any experience with them – is there anyone you could recommend in Canberra?

Employer to prospective employee at interview:
“This is a very impressive resume…we would like to employ the person that wrote it for you”…
Lee Corrigan from Canberra Secretarial Services goes to great lengths to ensure a professional resume.
If you are aged over 50 you can access the Government’s free career advice service which includes a resume service. I got my dad onto it and they really shaped up his resume. You email in a resume and whoopeee it comes back all professional.
Totally free and profressional – provided by career advisers http://www.deewr.gov.au/employment/programs/expplus/pages/news_newsrvmatureaus.aspx
You could probably access it if you are under 50 because it’s a phone based service so they can’t really ‘tell’ how old you are ..
Sorry Schmeah not over 50 as yet – got another 10 years before I reach that one..
Thanks Trevar and Ferarri have contacted them and will see what they come up with.
And finally – Maxblues – really helpful – as I said I haven’t had to look for a job in 10 years and things have have changed – just need to know I am across all the new standards. (Looking for a job at 29 or 30 is different to looking for a job at 40 too) Also any business owner who judges an applicant purely on the “prettiness” of their resume not on the content wont be in business long – so I wouldn’t want to work for them……it’s not as if I am a graphic designer or anything like that
