Simon Corbell has announced that the Chief Police Officer Roman Quaedvlieg is leaving us for a gig at Customs:

Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Simon Corbell, has today congratulated Chief Police Officer for the ACT Roman Quaedvlieg on his appointment as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Customs and Border Protection.

“I would like to congratulate Chief Police Officer Quaedvlieg on his new role and thank him for his service to the ACT community since his appointment as Chief Police Officer in March 2010,” Mr Corbell said.

“Under his leadership the ACT has experienced a significant, and sustained, reduction in crime across the majority of crime types, more than 20 per cent each year in some cases,” Mr Corbell said.

No word on a replacement, yet.

Perhaps Buford T. Justice will step in – his methods would be so much more effective than those lame speed cushions.

With a name like that, I’m sure he could become a character in Game of Thrones.

There’ll never be able to replace him. How many Roman Quaedvlieg’s are there in this world? 🙂
