Territory And Municipal Services are advising that they’re closing Rudd Street for a month to conduct sewerage works:

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that Rudd Street, between Marcus Clarke Street and Hutton Street, in the City will be temporarily closed from 6 pm Monday 28 February 2011 to 6 pm Thursday 31 March 2011.

This is to allow for relocation works of a sewer main.

Barriers as well as warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people to the closure.

The ACT Government apologises for the inconvenience

Looking at the map, most of you will think of this as Childers St.

It’s been closed for more than 2 months already, it was originally supposed to be closed for only 1 month. I guess the workmen are a bit short of work at the moment..

LOL, I hope that with all the digging, they don’t undermine 50 Marcus Clarke Street in the process, or cause too much resonant jackhammer vibration. 50 Marcus Clarke Street is right on the corner of Rudd Street. It’s the building with the Zumba problem.
