Shane driving through energy efficiency in ACT Government facilities

The low hanging fruit for any Green is always going to be the lighting:

A $1.7 million project will soon commence to upgrade lighting in ACT Government owned buildings and depots to help reduce electricity consumption, Minister for Territory and Municipal Services Shane Services, Rattenbury, announced today.

“The aim of this project is to significantly reduce electricity consumption produced by lighting in these buildings,” Mr Rattenbury said.

“Energy efficient lighting upgrade work has already been undertaken at the Fyshwick offices on Canberra Avenue, Dickson and Woden public libraries, Dame Patties Menzies House in Dickson and a number of ACT Government occupied floors in 12 Moore St Street in Civic.
