The biggest 10 minute theatre festival in the world is coming back to Canberra and is looking for people who like to do things. Theatre things.

Short+Sweet Canberra returns in August and the festival is on the look out for ACT based actors, directors, writers and Independent Theatre Companies (ITCs) to take part. Now in its fifth year in Canberra, will run from August 5th – 18th at the Courtyard Studio.

For ACT-based artists it’s a unique opportunity to direct or act in a new play, see your play performed on stage, launch a new Independent Theatre Company, experiment in a new theatrical style or simply create an excellent piece of ten minute theatre.

Short+Sweet is open to all styles of theatre from comedy to drama, physical to puppetry, poetic to absurd. What you present at Short+Sweet is up to you – the only requirement is the play must be ten minutes or less!

All plays presented at the Festival have the chance to go on to be performed at Short+Sweet Festivals all around the world. Short+Sweet now runs in five countries across the globe – Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and India.

Keen? Well then you should email Festival Director Kate Gaul at kate@shortandsweet.org or maybe visit http://www.shortandsweet.org/shortsweet-theatre/our-festivals/canberra.

Either of those things would be a good idea.
