Impact Comics’ ‘Japan Day‘, originally touted as a chance for cosplayers to strut their stuff on ice and win prizes, has now received an upgrade to become less geeky and more family-friendly.

Skate in the City will celebrate its closing day and final “Cultural Sunday” on Sunday (29 July) with Japan having the last hurrah.

Join in the fun of the Cos Play parade, a favourite Japanese pastime where young and old alike pay tribute to comic book characters through costume.

The Japan Marquee will have something for everyone with Japanese calligraphy, origami, spinning tops and children’s story telling scheduled throughout the day.

Sunday is the last day of the 2012 Skate in the City. Make sure you don’t miss out.

People interested in participating in the Cos Play parade need to assemble at Impact Comics before 11am on Sunday. The first 25 participants to arrive will receive a ticket to the 12pm ice skating session.

As JB put it last week, “if anyone wants to send photos to images@the-riotact.com Editorial Resource Number 2 will no doubt love them.”
