Smith gets another chance as the Brumbies are named to take on the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld

By 19 April 2012 1

So this is it. If the Brumbies win this game they’re not just “much improved”, or “future prospect”.

If the Brumbies win this weekend against the mighty Bulls at Pretoria’s daunting Loftus Versfeld Stadium they become championship contenders.

So who have they picked to play the Springbok laden Bulls up on the high veldt?

The team announcement has Ben Alexander coming into the starting XV, which is good. Andrew Smith is possibly seen as a better starting defensive option and is getting the nod at outside centre over Tevita Kuridrani who could be awesome coming on as an impact player.

Here’s the team:

    University of Canberra Brumbies
    1. Ben Alexander
    2. Stephen Moore
    3. Dan Palmer

Not sure I’m happy to see Smith back in the side. I thought last week was as good an example of a player proving himself to be the better choice as you’re likely to see. That said, we probably require Larkham at his peak to be back in the side in order to win this weekend.
