An interesting little tidbit from the Snowy Hydro SouthCare mission page this morning:

Monday 9th, January 2012
Tasked to SNOWY MOUNTAINS at 6am to assist with search and rescue operation. 3 missing Americans campers [sic]

No other details at this point.

UPDATE: The ABC has more.

FURTHER UPDATE: They’ve been found.

Low cloud… my bet is they got disorientated in the cloud/fog and wandered off. It can happen very easily up there.

I was simply *itching* to comment, but felt I shouldn’t as they’re still missing. Now you’ve broken the drought. The image of a merkin being sucked in will haunt me for all time.
