The 2013 Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Runners were welcomed home today by Shane Rattenbury. The runners have travelled 15,000km across Australia to spread a message of peace and goodwill and other really nice things like that.

Well done runners.

“In this Centenary Year, we are very pleased to have the opening and closing ceremonies ofthe Peace Run as part of the official Centenary Program,” Mr Rattenbury said.

As part of the Canberra Centenary celebrations, runners carried a special message from the ACT Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher, to the Premiers, Mayors and Shire Presidents along the route, inviting them to be part of Canberra’s Centenary celebrations.

“The history of Canberra highlights the spirit of freedom, democracy and achievement in which our nation was built. This heritage is worthy of celebration across the country, and the Peace Run has provided an ideal opportunity to connect our capital to the nation,” Mr Rattenbury concluded.
