Territory and Municipal Services want you to know they’ve finished works on the Stockyard Spur walking trail:

“The Stockyard Spur Walking trail offers bushwalkers two walks. The first two kilometre section is on a formalised trail that traverses highland forests which presents several natural viewing platform overlooking the Corin reservoir, while the second section, designed for experienced walkers, travels another 4.5 kilometres into Namadgi’s remote wilderness area,” Mr McNamara said.

“The trail rises over 800 metres in elevation from its starting point at the Corin Dam wall to its peak at Stockyard Gap. It offers some incredible views across the Bimberi Wilderness to the south-east and the rugged Stockyard Creek valley to the west.

“The top of Stockyard Spur walking trail allows bushwalkers to explore other features of Namadgi including Pryor’s Hut, Mt Franklin and Mt Gingera.

“While Stockyard Spur walking trail is geared to more adventurous types, the walk complements some of the other recently opened trails such as Rendezvous Creek Trail and Gibraltar Peak Trail at Tidbinbilla,” Mr McNamara said.
