Today between 12 – 6pm our house in Franklin was robbed, our door was kicked in and they stole electronic goods, cash and our car!

It is a black mazda 3 with a white indent on the back right hand side of the car. If anyone has seen this car in your area, please alert the ACT police immediately!

I recommend anyone who goes on holiday in the future, to take ALL their car and house keys with them.

I hope forensics got DNA samples and can match them with the thieves………then get yourself a pair of pliers and a blowtorch.

Aaah that would be a quantum zero then… I figured wtc may have had an ace up his sleeve, albeit unintentional of course.

wildturkeycanoe – It’s only a Mazda 3….get onto the insurance immediately and upgrade to something decent like a Toyota or Honda. Chances of getting it back in one piece, zero.

Actually the car has been recovered in one piece! Found in Watson.

ah,,,going away and leaving a car at home…..take a spark plug out,,,little hassle little issue,,,really hard to start the car.
Deterrents,,,,,place warning house has security systems stickers on all windows,,,and put up old cams…
For about $1 you can buy buzzers that go off if the window/door is opened…not much but if you have stickers and old cams,,,,makes it seem more real.
Most doors,,,(delete that,,,,before the admins do)
People who kick in your backdoor are just in a hurry or newbies…any deterrent will send them up the road to an easier house…

I’m so so sorry to hear about this. A lot of people might think “Oh, just another stolen car, who cares” but the vehicle could represent transport for a family, someone’s livelihood, a lifetimes savings, or all of the above.

The people who stole your car are scum. I will be on the look out for your vehicle.

Always a scum bag somewhere to ruin things.

Sorry to hear about this. Hope they catch the crooks soon.

Bugger! I hope you get your car back and have to pick pieces of the perps out of the grille.

Isnt that kind of obvious? At the very least for those who dont, hide them better than the key-hook in the kitchen or near the front door.

Unfortunately, for many people it isn’t obvious, which is why there are so many newer model cars stolen.

As suggested, hide your car keys or if you’re going away and leaving a car at home, leave the keys with a neighbour or friend/relly.

I recommend anyone who goes on holiday in the future, to take ALL their car and house keys with them.

If caught, these scumbags will only end up in the Hume Hilton for a few months if the court is serious, otherwise just a slap on the wrist, especially if they’re juvenile (or even was a juvenile nowadays it seems).

What a crap thing to happen. Hopefully the police and your insurer can get everything back the way it should be, and quickly. All the best for a difficult time.
