Stories of Canberra Scientists at Questacon

Over the next 12 months the stories of 100 Canberran, or ex-Canberra scientists will be told at Questacon as a part of 100°C – Stories of Canberra Scientists.

Here’s the next two!

Dr Beth Mantle, Collection Manager at the CSIRO, is responsible for the security, integrity and on-going development of the Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC), the largest collection of Australian insects in the world.

Dr Beth Mantle will talk about the role of ANIC, share some amazing pictures of Australian insects and talk about the remarkable story of the Lord Howe Stick Insect.

Professor Hans-Albert Bachor is Emeritus Professor at the Australian National University and independent consultant in the area of physics, science communication and science education. His presentation, LaserFest looks at the physics, history and future of the laser – more than just a fancy light show.
