Canberra’s storm watchers had a field day last night with distant clouds.

Don’t worry, rain’s on the way. the monsoon’s finally started, giving the heave to that giant bubble of too-hot air over australia, and next week should see the start of some pretty convincing wetness.

Very cool. Be nice if we had some rain to go with it.

We could see the cloud while walking the dog in Giralang last night. IIRC, the BOM radar indicated that the storm was down between Bredbo and Cooma, so something like 60km or so from Tuggeranong. It was one of those nasty little high speed round units with a black centre, indicating localised but very heavy precipitation. I was glad I didn’t have a front row seat.
