All proceeds from the day will be going towards 2 important projects:

    — In conjunction with local partners, we are building an indoor basketball court in Kabul, Afghanistan, providing young kids (girls especially) the opportunity to take part in a social sporting activity without prying eyes and fears of repercussions. The venue is also being kitted out with computers and educational materials to allow the local volunteers to teach basic schooling to some of the most disadvantaged kids in the local community.

    — Our new Night Hoops program, which will be run in conjunction with local charities, taking at-risk and disadvantaged kids in our own Canberra community off the streets and into a safe environment, teaching them not only the basic skills of basketball, but in the process helping them learn important life skills such as conflict resolution and good communication (after a great feed, of course!). The program involves groups as diverse as Basketball ACT, the AFP, Rotary Clubs and OzHarvest.

If you would like more information about us, our award-winning programs or even want to know how you can contribute, volunteer or come along to this great fundraiser, head to our website at www.bigbangballers.org

Hope to see you all on the 28th!
