ArtsACT offering up poetry prize

ArtsACT has announced a new prize for Canberran poets.
The new ACT Poetry Prize is open from 1 March to 2 April 2013.
The Prize is valued at $5,000. The winning entry attracts a prize of $3,000 and two short-listed poems will attract a prize of $1,000 each.

Arts residencies up for grabs

ArtsACT is calling for applications:
Applications are now open for funding to support artist residency programs located in the ACT or immediate surrounds. Applications are open to incorporated arts organisations, tertiary institutions, and ACT and Australian Government agencies including statutory authorities.

Key Arts Organisations carve up $3.3 million in funding

Joy Burch has announced the winners of the Key Arts Organisation program:
Three organisations were awarded five-year funding packages commencing in 2012 through the program: the Canberra Youth Theatre, $220,000 a year, Craft ACT Inc, $184,500 annually; and Canberra Contemporary Art Space Inc, $170,000 a year.

Young Artists offered $500 grants

ArtsACT are calling for young artists to apply for $500 grants.
These grants are designed to assist young artists with an activity that will develop their arts practice. Activities could include promotion costs, materials, documentation, and venue and equipment hire costs associated with an arts activity. Funding cannot be used for artists’ fees.
