Here’s hoping you’re all having a merry Christmas

By 25 December 2013

2013 has been, for many of us, harder than we ever imagined it would be.
But on Christmas Day it’s important to remember that love and laughter are far more important than the things in our life.
I hope you all have a great day and night.
But if not remember the cricket starts tomorrow.

Martyo’s Skywhale makes for the Chief Minister’s Christmas Card

By 17 December 2013

It seems we still warrant an e-card from the Chief Minister.
Even more delightfully Martin Ollman (aka MartyO in these parts) is credited with the image, which is a nice way to round out the year.

By 17 December 2013

The NRMA is reminding Canberra’s cossetted drivers of the dangers of the big wide world out there:

Tales from Tuggeranong – Shop keepers forget it’s Christmas

By 21 December 2012

I don’t think many people would even know it is Christmas in Tuggeranong.
The Hype Dome has few decorations.
Walking through there you would be forgiven for thinking it was just another day.
And, every other business in Greenway appears to have forgotten it is Christmas.
What is wrong with businesses in Tuggeranong joining forces, [...]

Carols at Lanyon this Sunday

By 4 December 2012

[ 9 December 2012 at 5:00 pm; ]

It’s unavoidably Christmas now. But one of Canberra’s nicer seasonal elements are the Carols at Lanyon.

I reviewed it back in 2008 and the Lanyon website has this to say:

An evening of magical Christmas fun. Bring your own picnic to enjoy in the beautiful
Lanyon gardens. Listen to the festive music of the Sing Australia Choir and [...]

https://canberraxmaslights2011.crowdmap.com/main
After doing so I actually realised that there are [...]
