Kusina at Cooleman Court serves up modern Filipino cuisine, is a hub for Canberra’s Filipino community and has heaps of great value lunch specials.
Kusina is a restaurant I wish I’d discovered sooner. While I do most of my shopping at Cooleman Court, and it’s my go-to destination for Friday night takeaway, I’d somehow missed out on eating [...]

About 7.30pm two men were walking along Trennery Street (near Cooleman Court) when they were approached by four males walking from the opposite direction.

It looks like something reasonably serious has happened at Cooleman Court today, out the front of Kusina restaurant.
As I was leaving the carpark there, I saw multiple police vehicles with their lights on, haphazardly pulled up in front of the restaurant and police were taking statements from people (who I thought looked quite shocked).
In another [...]
Over the weekend my partner and I decided to take ourselves out for breakfast.
Of course, it was Sunday and we all know Sunday was.. Mothers Day! We decided it would be best to try somewhere out of the way because everyone and their mother would be out eating breakfast to celebrate.
We live in the Weston [...]
After reading the Melty Roads post, I thought I’d send some images of the stones that were hastily laid at the Cooleman carpark during one of the hot days before Christmas (20 Dec 2013).
This carpark was only resurfaced in the last 6 months.
The work crews putting this down must have had a few to do [...]
Has anyone any idea about what happened to the chicken shop in Cooleman Court called Chicken Galore? The shop was boarded up when I last popped by without any explanation as to if it was reopening, relocating or what.
Anyone know? Or can anyone recommended a similar business somewhere in close proximity to Weston Creek?

Does anyone know what was happening in Weston today around 1.30pm near Cooleman Court?
After lunchtime, I noticed an unmarked AFP 4WD in our street and then a blue pyjama-wearing AFP person run down a footpath and jump inside the 4WD and it drove off.
Next I saw a marked patrol car slowly drive up [...]
Andrew Barr has posted online a lengthy speech to the Assembly on where the Master Plan process is up to.
Of particular interest is that in 2011-12 the priority list is:
– Oaks Estate, which is already committed and some work is being undertaken in the preparation of the master plan
– Weston – Cooleman Court group centre
My car has been bunny hopping recently almost as if no fuel is getting pumped into the engine.
Upon talking to friends about this issue….they asked “where do you get petrol from?”
“Cooleman Court in Weston Creek” I replied.
“Don’t go there they use dirty fuel, friends of friends and other people they know have had to buy [...]
