Lyneham kitchen fire

ACT Fire & Rescue have extinguished a small kitchen fire in an apartment in Oliver Street, Lyneham this afternoon.
Crews were alerted to the fire by a neighbour who called Triple Zero (000) after noticing smoke issuing from the apartment.

Smoke lingering but no planned burns today

Following yesterday’s controlled burns some smoke remains visible across the ACT.
ACT Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) crews are patrolling sites in O’Connor, Gordon, Isaacs and Gilmore, conducting mopping up operations.

Blaze on Dunrossil Drive

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a fire in an excavator on Dunrossil Drive, Yarralumla.
Two fire pumpers responded to the scene and extinguished the fire which began in the engine compartment.
Estimated damaged $60,000.
No injuries.

Well timed fire at Lyons Primary (Early Childhood)

ACT Fire & Rescue has responded to an Automatic Fire Alarm at Lyons Primary School.
Crews were on scene at the time of activation for education purposes when the automatic fire alarm was activated.
A fire was contained to an oven and quickly extinguished by crews onsite.

Fire ban coming off Saturday as temperatures come down

The Total Fire Ban for the ACT will remain in force until midnight tonight.
Tomorrow will see a lifting of the Total Fire Ban with weather conditions becoming significantly milder.
