Foreshore…ForeNot!

By 27 November, 2011

Mr Padoof and I looked forward to Foreshore, the lineup offered some great acts, but I was so disappointed by the antics of the crowd and would never do it again.
I really hope that the youth of today is not represented by the majority who attended; they were mostly obnoxious and rude and seemed intent [...]

By 27 September, 2011

Billyk157 has drawn our attention to apparent efforts by an exercise class to pull down the Lake foreshore lighting.
It’s not quite Baghdad in 2003, but we’re sure if they keep trying they’ll get there.

Foreshore sunscreen confiscation illegal?

By 29 November, 2010

The Canberra Times today carries a story about guards confiscating sunscreen from patrons as they entered this outdoor event.
I may be well and truly delusional here, but I would have thought that apart from the obvious contradictions with everything we are being told about remaining sun-safe, wouldn’t the seizure of personal property normally considered to be [...]

Foreshore cleanup

By 2 December, 2008

With the Foreshore festival choosing to use iconic public locales there’s a legitimate public interest in the clean-up.
To that end I wandered down this morning, three days later, to see how they’re going.
Most of the site is still fenced, and there’s a lot of heavy machinery still hard at work.
You can get down into Commonwealth [...]
