It was hot outside today, and it will be hot again tomorrow. But in between we’ve had a great series of storm cells passing over, with some excellent lightning.
I pointed the camera out the upstairs window, and set it on automatic shooting with a programmable remote control. Unfortunately there’s nothing automatic about the processing stage…
Four houses have been evacuated tonight in Oxley by ACT Fire & Rescue as a precaution because of two gas leaks.
The leaks are located close to each other on Newman Morris Circuit and are believed to have started after lightning struck a light pole.
Firefighters have a 50 to 100 metre exclusion zone around the leaks [...]

Well this heavy rain hasn’t come from anywhere in particular, the weather radar shows is coming up out of nowhere right above us.
The Bureau has cunningly updated a prediction of thunderstorms after they had begun!
