Parkes Way should become a little less congested from today with a new lane opening up between Clunies Ross Street bridge and Glenloch Station.
The additional lane was constructed as part of the $14.7 million Parkes Way widening project which will increase the capacity of Parkes Way between Glenloch Interchange and Edinburgh Avenue.

ACT Policing has caught a 23-year-old man travelling 149km/h in an 80km zone along Parkes Way early this morning (Monday, January 16).
Around 6am police recorded the man travelling 69km/h over the speed limit. He was issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice and fined $1,811 and lost six demerit points off his licence.

Over the weekend I was reminded that Canberra too had a case of roads unzipping last December during the floods.
Sadly three months later our repair effort, as seen above, have lacked Japanese efficiency or urgency.
