Weston pedestrian fatality takes road toll to 11

A 95-year-old man has died in hospital following a collision in Weston last night (Thursday, November 22).
Around 6.45pm, the man was hit by a car while walking across Macnally Street near the intersection of Namatjira Drive in Weston. He was taken by the ACT Ambulance Service to The Canberra Hospital and died early this morning.

ACT Policing has recorded a single digit road toll of six in 2011, making it the lowest road toll since 1959 and a two-third reduction from 2010.

A 73-year-old Griffith man who died in The Canberra Hospital following a collision in Fyshwick on Friday, May 13 will not be counted towards the road toll.

A 29-year-old Evatt man has died as a result of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle this afternoon (Saturday, 26 March).

An elderly man who was involved in a collision over two weeks ago has died.
About 10.15am on Thursday January 27, the 98-year-old man was hit by a car in the Calvary Retirement Village. He was taken to The Canberra Hospital with serious injuries. The man died early this morning.
