Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) wishes to advise the public that, weather permitting, a controlled burn will be conducted tomorrow, Saturday 11 May 2013, within The Pinnacle Nature Reserve.

TAMS are letting you all know they’re busy revegetating and placing woody debris:
“Since European settlement, Canberra’s woodland communities have diminished and become highly fragmented due to urban growth and development, making it difficult for animal populations to move across the landscape,” Mr Iglesias said.
“A project has been underway since 2011 to reconnect these woodland communities [...]

A tree down there had a about 20 little rainbow lorrikeets in it a couple of mornings back. Lovely little fellows, shame I didn’t get a good shot of them. Not that common around here are they?

We had to have our old mutt put to sleep before Xmas.

The burn is approximately one hectare in size and is a continuation of the burn undertaken on Tuesday 19 June 2012.
