Browsing through the Federal Budget papers I came across this item, which left me scratching my head:
‘$300,000 for Ramp Metering on the Tuggeranong Parkway/Cotter Rd interchange’
Like 99.9% of the population, I had no idea what ramp metering was, let alone why the Commonwealth would pay for it or why it was needed at the Cotter [...]
ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a fire in the engine compartment of a five tonne pantech truck on the Tuggeranong Parkway, near the Canberra International Arboretum and Gardens.

Ok so I’m going to start the day off with a bit of a rant.
Why just why are tractor/diggers allowed on the road in morning traffic? This is the second morning where one had been on the road going about at 20 Km/h in a 100 zone and it’s causing people to be even more [...]
While not ignoring the plight of our northern bretheren, do the 3 major accidents on Hindmarsh Drive and Tuggeranong Parkway over the last 3 days indicate that the City Council’s busway from Civic to Gunners is somewhat misguided and missing the mark?
Surely a public transport service (bus, train, helicopter, whatever) that utilises seperate laneways from [...]
The ACT Rural Fire Service is currently on scene at a three meter by nine meter mulch fire at the National Arboretum on the Tuggeranong Parkway.
Crews arrived on scene to find the mulch pile well alight.
Four heavy tankers and a bulk water unit are currently on scene to extinguish the fire.
Update to follow.

The collision occurred on the Glenloch Interchange on Tuggeranong Parkway about 150m north of the Lady Denman Drive off-ramp.
All southbound lanes on the parkway were closed for a period of two [...]
My family and I had an interesting experience this morning while driving southbound along the parkway.
Just past Kambah High we noticed what appears to be stolen car (red hatchback, smashed rear window, no plates) come out of some trees on our left and proceed at speed along the nature strip. Other drivers on the Parkway [...]
Seen floating above the Tuggeranong Parkway near Lyons this morning.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No, it’s a remote control shark.
Thankfully Owen has been out to take a picture so we don’t have to.
We’ve been getting reports today of some sort of alarming scarecrow on the Cotter Road.
Apparently it’s just near the Tuggeranong Parkway.

DarkLadyWolf has sent in this picture from under the bridge where the Tuggeranong Parkway passes over Heysen Street, Weston.
We’ve asked TAMS if it’s one of theirs but at this point we’re suspecting a naughty stencil artist is having some fun.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a road rage incident yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, August 24) which started in Greenway before ending in Civic.
Around 5.45pm yesterday, a black Lexus RX400 four wheel drive was stopped at a set of traffic lights on Drakeford Drive, Greenway when it was struck by a grey or beige coloured Land [...]
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision on the northbound lanes of Tuggeranong Parkway, between Sulwood Drive and Hindmarsh Drive, earlier this morning (Monday, August 22).
The collision occurred about 10am when an unidentified driver slammed on the brakes of their car, causing the driver behind in a white Hyundai Getz to brake heavily, lose [...]
Territory And Municipal Services are warning that finishing the Gungahlin Drive Extension will mean closing the Tuggeranong Parkway between 10pm and 5am in late August.
Specifically between the 15th and the 23rd.
Just wondering if anyone knows what (if any) plans the ACT Government has to improve traffic flow along Cotter Road between the Tuggeranong Parkway and Adelaide Avenue?
This is already an issue on some days – however, once people have moved into the first of the new Molonglo suburbs which are currently under construction, it is [...]
ACT Policing is investigating a collision on the Tuggeranong Parkway in Weston tonight (Thursday, May 5) around 7pm in which an elderly male driver was deceased.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, which occurred after a northbound Kia Cerato sedan driven by the deceased man, an 86-year-old from Page, has lost control and collided [...]
A mother with a blood-alcohol limit almost five times the legal limit and a male on his second alleged drink-driving offence were detected by ACT Policing yesterday (Wednesday, March 30).
The 47-year-old Charnwood mother was seen driving erratically by members from Tuggeranong Station on the Tuggeranong Parkway about 2:35pm.
Police unsuccessfully attempted to conduct a traffic stop [...]
Driving home along the Parkway near the Woden Speed camera a few minutes ago, we were overtaken by an idiot in a burnt orange hoon mobile. It passed us fast enough to rock our car in it’s wake. The news that warms my black little heart is it was followed by a station wagon with [...]
public information I’m guessing… ?
The magic of YouTube brings this altercation on the Tuggeranong Parkway. You can skip to 2:49 for the interesting bit.
“FullHalfGlass” is rather irritated, but the geezer in the Corolla did at least indicate…?
1. Kaleen knocking shop:
ACT Policing has exposed an illegal brothel operating within the suburb of Kaleen.
In May of this year information was received from members of the public through the Crime Stoppers web site about suspicious activity at the Kaleen address. Last night (Thursday September 2) ACT Policing obtained and executed a search [...]

If there’s one thing the above photo tells us, it’s that you don’t need to do much more than 204km/h to get out of the frame of speed cameras.
Here’s the story from the AFP:
ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses to a motorcycle travelling at high speed on the [...]

Has anyone else noticed the slip lane leading north onto the Tuggeranong Parkway from Lady Denman Drive.
You have the situation where cars coming off Lady Denman to go to Belconnen have a Give Way sign when turning right. Across the road from them you have cars exiting the Arboretum which have a [...]
As I left home this morning, tuning into 2CA, there weren’t any reports re any problems on the roads. when I got onto the parkway, surprise, surprise, there was a massive one. Funny thing is, there wasn’t even a mention by the “sky ranger” (or whatever they call him). Now, I can’t get the FM [...]
