ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a fire on a cooktop in a townhouse at Yallum Gardens, Ashley Drive, Wanniassa.
Whilst cooking, a resident utilised a fire blanket on the stove top to contain and suppress the fire.

Arrested for burglary and theft

A 32-year-old Wanniassa man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with burglary and theft.
The 32-year-old was arrested yesterday (Wednesday, May 1) by police in Dickson following an investigation into his criminal activities.
Following his arrest members from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations Crime Targeting Team executed four search warrants on a number of homes.

A golden retriever was found this morning around 7:30 at the roundabout on Erindale Drive between Wanniassa and Monash.  She’s about 6 years old and microchipped however, it doesn’t seem that the chip information has been updated and there is no collar.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision earlier today (Saturday, October 6) in Wanniassa, in which a cyclist was critically injured.
The collision occurred around 7am at the roundabout at the intersection of Sternberg Crescent and Erindale Drive. The cyclist, a 59-year-old man from Macarthur, was conveyed by ambulance to The Canberra Hospital.
