Andrew Barr has announced that he’s released the recommendations of his “tertiary taskforce” although nothing is yet online aside from the media release.
He says, however, that the key recommendations include:
— the establishment of an ACT Tertiary Education Steering Committee to provide advice to Government
— the development of a tertiary education portal to provide a single and easy to use information source for anyone thinking of getting into tertiary education
— greater collaboration between tertiary education providers to create new and more streamlined learning opportunities and making it easier for students to move between institutions
— the further promotion of Canberra as Australia’s learning capital and an international education city, and building greater partnerships between employers and education providers.
It’s nice that the taskforce’s first recommendation is its permanent establishment followed by a bunch of aspirations.
