I want to give a quick thankyou!

My girlfriend and I were out in Civic last night having dinner. We’d parked the car under the new Civic Centre. As we walked back to the car I discovered I’d lost my ticket. We re-traced our steps trying to find it with no luck. So we went back to the car resigned to the fact we’d have a large price to pay for parking that night. We got to the machine so we could talk over the intercom to find out what I’d need to do to pay to get out.

As we approached the machine we noticed a ticket sitting on a shelf beside the ticket vending machine. I looked at it and the time was about right that it could have been my dropped ticket. I don’t know if it was mine or not. But I figured it wasn’t much use to anyone expect people who’d lost their ticket like me. So I picked it up put it in the machine and paid the amount it said I owed.

Assuming it was my ticket that I’d dropped, I’d like to thank whoever found it and placed it beside the machine for me to find!

It’s lovely to see. I had an hour left on my ticket the other week, instead of tossing it I looked over and saw the car next to me had about 4 minutes left, so I stuck it under their windscreen wiper. Here’s to hoping it helped 🙂

I had no money for day parking at Woden a few weeks back, and found someone had put a paid day’s parking ticket back in the machine! Incredibly fortuitous. Whenever I have time left on a parking voucher, I stick it back in the machine in case it helps someone, and the other week a lady was evidently caught out by the way they require you to pay til 5.30pm, and so scrounged mine off me as I was leaving at 5pm. I guess it all goes around.

and if it wasn’t your ticket but someone else’s who was pissed off that night cause a friend who rang to say they’d left them a ticket at the machine for them to use but discovered wasn’t there when they got there 5 minutes later!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just hypothesizing.

No it was put there by the Martian version of a meter maid.

I’ve done this a couple of times before in the Canberra Center parking…

I’m surprised how many people pay for their ticket, then leave it sticking out of the machine.
(Could have taken it myself, but I’ve always put it aside and paid for my own)

it nice to know that there are people out there looking out for other people. good on you who ever you are
