The 18th Canberra International Music Festival

This year’s festival runs from this Friday, 11 May, to 20 May, bringing the best of local, Australian and international classical, contemporary and jazz performers to Canberra. Performing at a number of Canberra’s best known landmarks and also in intimate locations, the gamut of music ranges from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, to modern Australian composers such as Peter Sculthorpe and the Festival’s composer in residence, Peteris Vasks. The Amazing Space series of concerts takes place at locations that would not normally be associated with music, such as the High Court, The Australian National Portrait Gallery and the Australian Film and Sound Archive and New Acton.

Performers at the festival includes the Wallfisch Band, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, the New Zealand String Quartet, the Song Company, Osmosis and many more.
