We’ve had a shout from the fabled ANU Film Group that they’re getting into the groove of the new year with a free screening of Skyfall:

Kick off O-Week and the ANU Film Group screening year with Bond… James Bond by joining us for our free screening of SKYFALL on Monday 11 February at 8 PM!

Making more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office and receiving unanimous critical acclaim, SKYFALL is without a doubt one of the best Bond films ever made.

The film begins with Bond (Daniel Craig) on the trail of a hard drive containing the identities of undercover agents. When the drive is lost and MI6 comes under attack, Bond finds his loyalty to M (Judi Dench) tested as her past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance.

From its spectacular opening scene in Istanbul to its sensational climax in the Scottish Highlands, the film grabs hold of you and never lets go. This movie has something for everyone: gripping action, intelligent thrills and spectacular acting, particularly from Javier Bardem as one of the most gleefully unhinged Bond villains ever. It may have taken us fifty years and twenty-three films (with a couple of duds in between) to get here, but SKYFALL is an instant classic that deserves to be seen multiple times – and on the big screen at the ANU Film Group, naturally!

Entry is open to everyone. Doors open from 7:30 PM for an 8 PM sharp start. No tickets required, but seating is on a first come, first served basis, so try to arrive before 8 PM if possible to ensure you get a good seat.
